Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using BetterReceptionist (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

The service

BetterReceptionist provides AI-powered voice agents that answer calls and schedule appointments. Service availability, quality, and features may evolve. We aim for 99.9% monthly uptime for paid tiers, excluding scheduled maintenance.

Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • You must keep credentials confidential and notify us of any unauthorized use.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to violate any law or third-party rights.
  • Send spam, deceptive content, or unlawful telemarketing.
  • Reverse engineer, resell, or sublicense the Service without permission.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

Call recording & consent

You are responsible for complying with applicable call recording and consent laws in the jurisdictions where you operate. We provide tools (consent prompts, regional defaults) to help, but compliance is your responsibility.

Fees & billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and are non-refundable except where required by law. Usage overages (e.g., minutes) are billed at the rates listed on the pricing page in effect at the time of use.

Intellectual property

BetterReceptionist and its licensors retain all rights to the Service and its underlying technology. You retain ownership of your content and data. You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to operate and improve the Service for you.

Termination

You may cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law, with reasonable notice except for urgent security or legal reasons.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or in-product notice before they take effect.
